Rest days. We all try to rest. What is a rest day? A rest day is a day of no training. Why? We need rest in between workout sessions. Our muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons, and vessels all need time to recover from the stress we apply from training.
No rest in between sessions can cause injury. Specially in high impact sport as running. You can cause muscle strain on muscles. Tight calves and tendons of the feet can lead to bone spurs, shin splits, muscle tears, tendon shearing and more.
For those who lift weights, you have to rest that part of the body, so it can recover .
Resting also includes good hydration and nutrition. Stretching, yoga, Pilates,or doing mobility work.
As with anything, consult with your doctor before starting any new exercise regiment. I am not a coach or health care professional. Just my two cents.
Running long and hard is an ideal antidepressant, since it’s hard to run and feel sorry for yourself at the same time. Also, there are those hours of clearheadedness that follow a long run.
Today is a start of a new day. Team Voice has a home to start with. With it ever growing and changing Team .
